Inaugurated in 1984 as a museum, showcasing the industrial heritage of Suffolk. It features the story of Richard Garrett & Sons, where several pieces of machinery were produced, including steam engines that used to be sold and shipped all around the world from Leiston.

The Sizewell beach is just 2mi away from Leiston town centre, perfect for jogging, going for a walk, take dogs out, enjoy an ice cream or have a day out with family and children.
The Aldeburgh beach is situated down near the High Street of Aldeburgh, and much like Sizewell beach, it is great for any day out. And as it's near the High St, there is a plethora of shops to visit, a couple of churches and plenty of food places to treat your sweet tooth.
This is a beautiful display of ruins from the monastic times, near the village of Theberton.
This 14th century ruin remains is perfect to indulge in local history.

There's a park in Victory Road, Leiston, with a skating area available, play area for children, a lovely view and perfect for a pic-nic day.
You can also visit one of the oldest cinemas in Suffolk, The Leiston Film Theatre, or enjoy a gym / swim session at the Leisure Centre.
